This is a Group-level leadership role responsible for enterprise cybersecurity strategy, governance, risk management, and security operations. The role ensures security is embedded by design across platforms and delivery pipelines, aligned with business priorities, and implemented in a way that enables innovation without compromising resilience or trust.

The Head of Cybersecurity operates as a central shared service, a governance and assurance authority, and a strategic partner to Infrastructure, Cloud, DevOps, and Product teams
Strategic Context

The organisation delivers shared enterprise technology platforms supporting multiple strategic clients. These platforms operate under strong architectural, service, and security governance, with delivery enabled through agile PODs.

The Head of Cybersecurity acts as the custodian of cyber risk, assurance, and resilience across this operating model, ensuring consistent security standards, effective risk management, and mature security operations at scale.
Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the Group Cybersecurity Strategy and multi-year roadmap aligned with business growth and regulatory requirements
• Establish and maintain enterprise-wide cybersecurity policies, standards, and control frameworks
• Provide cybersecurity architecture oversight across platforms, products, and solutions

Security Operations & SOC Leadership
• Own and oversee 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) capabilities
• Lead threat detection, monitoring, incident response, and digital forensics
• Define, test, and continuously improve cyber incident response and crisis management procedures
• Ensure effective integration between SOC, Infrastructure (NOC), and Cloud platforms

Cyber Risk Management, Assurance & Compliance
• Lead enterprise-wide cyber risk assessments and threat modelling activities
• Define cyber risk acceptance thresholds and remediation priorities
• Ensure compliance with applicable frameworks and regulations, including ISO 27001, NIST, NDPR, GDPR, and client-specific obligations
• Support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and security certifications

Secure-by-Design Enablement (DevSecOps)
• Partner with Cloud and DevOps teams to embed security-by-design into platforms and delivery pipelines
• Define secure SDLC and DevSecOps guardrails
• Ensure consistent vulnerability management, penetration testing, and remediation practices
• Balance security controls with delivery speed to prevent security becoming a bottleneck

Executive, Client & Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as a trusted cybersecurity advisor to the CTIO, executive leadership, and Boards
• Support client engagements, proposals, due diligence, and security assurance activities
• Represent the organisation in regulatory engagements and third-party assessments
• Provide clear, business-oriented cybersecurity reporting and risk insights

Leadership, Capability & Security Culture
• Build and lead high-performing cybersecurity and SOC teams
• Define clear operating models across governance, assurance, and operations
• Drive organisation-wide security awareness, accountability, and best practices
• Develop succession plans and continuous capability uplift across cybersecurity functions
• Collaborate across teams to strengthen IT risk management and security maturity

Key Success Measures
• Effective Group-wide cybersecurity governance and assurance
• Mature and reliable 24/7 SOC operations
• Strong cyber risk visibility, prioritisation, and remediation
• Secure, compliant, and resilient platform posture
• Cybersecurity embedded into delivery without slowing innovation
• Executive and Board confidence in cyber risk management

Requirements
Experience & Background
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
• 12–15+ years’ experience in cybersecurity, risk, or technology assurance roles
• 5+ years in senior cybersecurity leadership positions

• Ability to translate technical cyber risks into business impact
• High integrity, resilience, and calm under pressure
• Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills
• Pragmatic, business-aligned approach to security in fast-moving environments
