Job Summary
The Plant Accountant will be responsible for managing all accounting and financial activities related to the manufacturing plant. This role ensures accurate cost accounting, inventory valuation, financial reporting, and compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards. The Plant Accountant will work closely with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to monitor manufacturing costs, improve financial efficiency, and support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cost Accounting & Inventory Management
• Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs including raw materials, labor, and overhead.
• Maintain standard costing systems and perform variance analysis.
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Conduct periodic inventory reconciliations and coordinate physical stock counts.

2. Financial Reporting
• Prepare monthly plant financial reports and cost analysis.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Provide detailed analysis of production costs, yield, and wastage.
• Assist in preparation of plant-level budgets and forecasts.

3. Internal Controls & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
• Maintain strong internal controls for inventory, procurement, and plant expenditures.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and applicable financial reporting standards.

4. Budgeting & Cost Optimization
• Work with operations teams to monitor plant budgets and cost performance.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Track capital expenditure and project-related costs.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with production, engineering, procurement, and supply chain teams to improve cost efficiency.
• Provide financial insights for operational decision-making.
• Support ERP systems and ensure accurate financial data capture.

Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification such as ACCA, ICAN, CPA, or CIMA preferred.
• 5 8 years of experience in accounting, preferably in manufacturing or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management.
• Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).

• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing cost structures and plant operations.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
