As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and ethical Accounting officer to manage our financial operations and ensure strict compliance with financial regulations and legal industry standards.
Location - Ikeja, Lagos
Job Responsibilities
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the firm. A critical aspect of this role is the strict segregation and management of Firm Operating Funds versus Client Trust Funds in compliance with the Rules of Professional Conduct for Legal Practitioners in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will handle bookkeeping, tax filings, financial reporting, and payroll while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
Qualifications & Requirements
B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized university.
Professional Certification is an added advantage
Experience: 3 to 5 years of post-qualification accounting experience. Experience within a Law Firm, Professional Service Firm, or Financial Institution is a distinct advantage.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Accounting Software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or Microsoft Dynamics).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
Strong understanding of Nigerian Tax Laws, IFRS, and the Rules of Professional Conduct for Legal Practitioners (specifically regarding client money).
Attention to Detail: High accuracy in data entry and reporting
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with Partners and clients.
