Job Description
Role Overview
• As Regional Sales Training Lead for Ogun State, you will own the sales performance of a field-based team of Direct Sales Representatives (DSRs) - recruiting, developing, and driving them toward targets that matter.
• This is a leadership role with real commercial accountability: you're not just managing people, you're building the local infrastructure that connects M-KOPA's products to the communities that need them most.
Why this role is different:
• Most sales leadership roles hand you a playbook and ask you to run it. This one asks you to read the terrain — Ogun's communities, its networks, its rhythms — and build the strategy that fits.
• You'll have the autonomy to develop local agent networks, shape your team's approach, and influence how M-KOPA shows up in one of Nigeria's most commercially dynamic states.
• The impact isn't abstract. Every DSR you develop, every customer your team reaches, is a data point in a much bigger story about financial inclusion in West Africa.
What You'll Do
• Recruit, onboard, and mentor a team of DSRs - setting clear performance standards, running regular coaching sessions, and building a culture where your team consistently exceeds targets
• Develop and execute localised sales and marketing strategies that grow M-KOPA's footprint across Ogun State, identifying new distribution opportunities and community entry points
• Monitor team performance, manage DSR inventory, oversee campaign execution, and ensure reporting and audit compliance in line with company policies.
What You'll Need
• Demonstrable experience in sales within FinTech, Microfinance, Telecommunications, FMCG, or a related sector with a track record of personally hitting and helping others hit commercial targets.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a field-based sales team in a target-driven environment — you know how to coach for performance, not just manage activity.
• Strong grasp of local market dynamics in Ogun or Southwest Nigeria, with the relationship-building skills to open doors and the commercial instincts to convert them.
