Job Description
An established energy firm in Lagos is seeking an experienced Manager (Commercial, Bid & Procurement) to lead its strategic sourcing and tendering functions. This role is pivotal in securing new business and ensuring the efficient delivery of large-scale EPCI projects through robust contract management and procurement strategies.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will report directly to the Managing Director and oversee the full lifecycle of commercial activities:
• Commercial & Bidding: Lead the preparation, submission, and follow-up of bids and RFQs for EPCI projects, ensuring all technical and commercial specifications are met.
• Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute procurement strategies for materials, equipment, and subcontracted services to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
• Contract Management: Negotiate and finalize purchase agreements, manage contract variations/claims, and oversee vendor performance.
• Risk & Finance: Conduct risk analysis and pricing strategies to improve win rates while maintaining strict profitability targets and budgetary controls.
• Leadership: Coordinate across engineering, finance, and legal teams to align bidding efforts with corporate strategy.
Qualifications & Requirements
We are looking for a professional with a strong track record in the Oil & Gas or Construction industries:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 8 years of experience in commercial management, procurement, and bidding within EPCI or similar sectors.
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as CIPS, PMP, CISCM, or ICCM are preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP/procurement systems and MS Office Suite, alongside strong financial modeling skills.
• Competencies: Exceptional negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple complex bid streams simultaneously.
Compensation
• Monthly Pay Range: 500,000 – 700,000 (Negotiable based on experience).
