Job Summary
• A Heavy Earth Moving Machines Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of heavy-duty construction and mining equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and dump trucks to ensure optimal performance and safety.

• Excavators
• Bulldozers
• Wheel Loaders
• Motor Graders
• Dump Trucks
• Backhoe Loaders
• Compactors.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection and Diagnosis:
• Inspect heavy earth moving equipment to identify faults, wear, and mechanical issues.
• Diagnose problems in engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical components.
Maintenance:
• Perform routine preventive maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, and system checks.
• Ensure machines are serviced according to manufacturer’s maintenance schedule.
Repairs:
• Repair or replace defective parts including engines, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, gearboxes, and braking systems.
• Carry out welding and fabrication work when necessary.
Hydraulic & Electrical Systems:
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, hoses, valves, and pumps.
• Diagnose electrical faults including wiring, sensors, and control systems.
Testing and Calibration:
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper functionality and safety.
• Calibrate systems to meet operational standards.
Documentation:
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Report major faults and recommend necessary replacements or upgrades.
Safety Compliance:
• Follow workplace safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
• Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and properly.
Equipment Handling:
• Operate heavy equipment for testing purposes when required.
• Ensure machines are properly parked and secured after maintenance.
Requirements / Qualifications
• OND, SSCE, Trade Test.
• Minimum of 10years experience maintaining heavy earth moving machines.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
