Role Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for the role of Senior Accountant (Lead, Ledger, Planning & Analysis). This is a senior finance leadership position responsible for end-to-end financial reporting, financial planning, performance analysis, and ledger integrity across a multi-entity organization.

The role combines strong accounting discipline with strategic financial planning and business partnering, supporting executive leadership with accurate reporting, forward-looking insights, and data-driven decision-making.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Controls
• Lead preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of general ledgers across all entities
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, and provisions
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements, and internal accounting policies
• Coordinate external audits, statutory filings, and regulatory reporting
• Strengthen internal controls and financial governance frameworks

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes
• Develop rolling forecasts and scenario planning models
• Conduct variance analysis and explain performance drivers
• Provide actionable insights on profitability, cost optimization, and growth
• Support pricing strategies, margin analysis, and investment decisions

Ledger, Planning & Analysis Leadership
• Integrate ledger performance with planning and analytical outputs
• Translate financial data into clear dashboards and executive reports
• Partner with Operations, HR, Procurement, and Sales teams to align financial plans with business realities
• Drive financial discipline and accountability across departments

Business Performance & Strategic Support
• Act as a financial business partner to business unit heads and senior leadership
• Analyze cost structures, revenue trends, productivity metrics, and ROI
• Support expansion initiatives, new projects, and capital expenditure analysis
• Provide financial input into strategic planning and efficiency initiatives

Team Leadership & Development
• Supervise, mentor, and develop junior finance team members
• Review team outputs for accuracy, quality, and timeliness
• Foster a high-performance finance culture
• Drive finance process improvements and system enhancements

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Timeliness and accuracy of financial reports
• Budget and forecast reliability
• Quality and impact of financial insights
• Cost control and margin improvement
• Audit outcomes and compliance record

Qualifications & ExperienceEducation & Certification
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) – mandatory
• ACCA, CFA, or MBA is an added advantage

Experience
• Minimum of 8 years progressive accounting and finance experience
• 3–5 years in a senior or lead accounting / FP&A role
• Proven experience with multi-entity or group-level financial reporting
• Strong exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Experience in hospitality, FMCG, retail, manufacturing, or multi-site operations is an advantage

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₦500,000.00 - ₦700,000.00 per month
