Job Description
Prepare, examine, and analyze financial records, and prepare financial statements in compliance with Nigerian accounting standards and company policies within the oil and gas environment.
Reconcile accounts, and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.
Prepare Economic analysis.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and management reports for executive review.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments to vendors and prompt collection of receivables from clients and project partners.
Oversee payroll accounting entries, statutory deductions, and remittances in compliance with relevant regulations and tax authorities including the Federal Inland Revenue Service/Nigeria Revenue Service.
Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws including Companies Income Tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WHT), and other statutory obligations.
Prepare and file accurate tax returns and coordinate responses to tax queries, audits, and assessments from regulatory bodies.
Monitor project cost allocations, budget tracking, and expenditure controls to ensure financial discipline across ongoing contracts.
Conduct bank reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, and treasury management activities to ensure financial stability and liquidity.
Support external and internal audit exercises by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and relevant documentation.
Implement and maintain strong internal control systems to safeguard company assets and prevent financial misstatements or fraud.
Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support management decision-making.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial reporting standards and professional guidelines issued by the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria
