Role Overview

South Atlantic LNG West Africa Limited is seeking an experienced Project Manager (Owner’s Representative) to take full ownership of the delivery of its LNG, gas processing, and virtual pipeline infrastructure projects in Nigeria.

Working alongside an appointed Owner’s Engineer, the Project Manager will be responsible for overall project outcomes — schedule, cost, contracts, risk, and stakeholder coordination — acting as the single point of accountability on behalf of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Governance
• Act as the Owner’s single point of responsibility for project execution from contract award through commissioning and handover.
• Develop and maintain the integrated project execution plan, master schedule, and cost control framework.
• Ensure alignment between project objectives, commercial strategy, and execution decisions.

Contractor & Consultant Management
• Manage EPC contractors, Owner’s Engineer, and other consultants, ensuring clear scope, accountability, and performance.
• Chair project progress meetings and drive resolution of issues, delays, and interface risks.
• Ensure Owner’s Engineer findings are translated into timely commercial and execution decisions.

Commercial & Contract Management
• Administer EPC and major supply contracts on behalf of the Owner.
• Review and recommend approval or rejection of variations, claims, extensions of time, and milestone payments.
• Monitor contractor cash flow requests against actual progress and contract terms.

Schedule, Cost & Risk Control
• Maintain control of project budget and forecast final project cost.
• Identify schedule and cost risks early and implement mitigation measures.
• Ensure effective change management and documentation of decisions.

Regulatory, Permitting & Stakeholder Coordination
• Coordinate permitting and regulatory approvals with NUPRC, NESREA, state authorities, and other agencies.
• Manage interfaces with landowners, host communities, utilities, logistics providers, and government stakeholders.
• Support local content compliance and community engagement activities.

Commissioning & Handover
• Coordinate readiness for commissioning, testing, and handover in collaboration with EPC and Owner’s Engineer.
• Ensure completion of punch lists, documentation, and operational handover requirements.

Reporting & Management Support
• Provide concise, decision-focused reports to company leadership and investors.
• Escalate critical issues promptly with clear recommendations.

Qualifications & Experience

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Experience
• 10–15 years experience in project delivery roles.
• Proven track record managing owner-side delivery of oil & gas, LNG, gas processing, power, or industrial infrastructure projects.
• Experience working with EPC contracts and Owner’s Engineers.
• Strong exposure to Nigerian regulatory and operating environments.

Professional Credentials
• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
• Engineering or project management professional registration is desirable.

• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Clear communicator with strong reporting discipline.
• Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-moving organization.
