Human Resource Manager (HR Lead)

Wisville Christian Schools (Nursery Primary Secondary) — Enugu, Nigeria

Wisville Christian Schools is seeking a highly competent People & Culture Manager to lead all HR functions while intentionally building a strong, Christ-centered staff culture across our Nursery, Primary, and Secondary sections.

This role is for a smart, proactive, systems-minded leader who can recruit well, build people, enforce standards, and raise staff capacity through consistent training and development.

Role Overview

The People & Culture Manager will own the entire people function of the school:
• HR operations & compliance
• Recruitment & onboarding
• Performance & accountability systems
• Staff welfare & employee relations
• Culture building
• Staff training & development (facilitating or organizing across all gaps)

You will help us build a staff team that is:
professional, punctual, excellent, teachable, values-driven, and committed to growth.

Key Responsibilities1) Full HR Leadership
• Manage recruitment, selection, and onboarding end-to-end
• Develop and implement HR policies, contracts, staff records, and leave systems
• Drive attendance, punctuality, discipline, and professionalism standards
• Handle staff welfare, conflict resolution, and sensitive employee matters with wisdom

2) Culture & People Building
• Build a healthy, productive Christian work culture (unity, excellence, integrity, respect)
• Champion staff engagement, communication, and morale without lowering standards
• Model and enforce “Wisville Standard” in conduct, speech, dress code, and attitude

3) Training & Staff Development (Core Focus)
• Identify skill gaps and design a staff development plan across all departments
• Create a termly/quarterly training calendar and ensure execution
• Facilitate trainings personally where competent, and source facilitators where needed
• Track training outcomes: improved teacher quality, service delivery, and performance

4) Performance & Accountability
• Design and run appraisal systems, KPIs, coaching plans, and improvement plans
• Support Heads of Department with performance management and team standards
• Ensure excellence is measurable and consistent, not assumed

Requirements
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (HR, Psychology, Business/Admin, or related field)
• Proven experience managing core HR functions (school experience is an advantage)
• Ability to facilitate training and drive staff development systems
• HR certifications are a plus (CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, etc.)
• Must be based in Enugu, Nigeria or willing to relocate
