Job Description
Our client, a forward-thinking organization committed to ethical practices and employee well-being, is seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable HR Compliance Officer to join their remote team. This position is crucial for ensuring that all HR policies and practices adhere to Nigerian labor laws and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of employment law, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to develop and implement robust compliance strategies. This is a fully remote role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations. Conduct regular audits of HR practices, including recruitment, compensation, employee relations, and termination processes, to identify potential risks and areas for improvement. Investigate employee complaints and allegations of non-compliance, ensuring fair and thorough resolution. Stay up-to-date with changes in labor laws and regulations and advise management on their implications for the organization. Develop and deliver compliance training programs to employees and management. Manage and maintain employee records in compliance with data privacy regulations. Liaise with external legal counsel and government agencies as needed. Prepare and submit required HR reports to regulatory bodies. Develop and implement strategies to foster a culture of compliance throughout the organization. Ensure that all HR-related documentation is accurate, complete, and securely stored.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification in HR or Compliance is a plus. Minimum of 4 years of experience in HR compliance, employment law, or a related field. In-depth knowledge of Nigerian labor laws, employment equity legislation, and other relevant regulations. Experience in conducting HR audits and investigations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote environment. High level of integrity and discretion. Experience in developing and delivering compliance training.
