Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated healthcare team in **Akure, Ondo, NG**. This role focuses on providing comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating common childhood illnesses, managing chronic conditions, and providing preventative health services and education to families. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pediatric care, a strong clinical background, and a passion for child health.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough physical examinations and developmental assessments for infants, children, and adolescents. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric illnesses. Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies according to established protocols. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory workups and imaging studies. Provide comprehensive health education and counseling to children and their families regarding nutrition, safety, immunizations, and disease prevention. Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Refer patients to specialists when required. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and best practices in pediatric nursing and medicine. Advocate for the health and well-being of children within the community. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines.
Qualifications:
Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing Practice (DNP) or equivalent, with a specialization in pediatrics. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the relevant jurisdiction. Board certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP). Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a pediatric clinical setting. Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and treatment planning skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. A strong commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. Knowledge of child development and common pediatric health issues.
