Our client, a leading healthcare provider, is actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Registered Nurse to join their dedicated team in **Enugu, Enugu**. This position requires the nurse to be physically present to provide direct patient care to infants, children, and adolescents. You will be responsible for assessing patient conditions, administering medications, implementing treatment plans, and educating patients and their families about health conditions and care. A primary focus will be on creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for young patients during their hospital stay.
Key duties include monitoring vital signs, documenting patient progress, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. You will manage specialized equipment, respond to medical emergencies, and advocate for the needs of your young patients. Strong knowledge of pediatric diseases, common treatments, and developmental stages is essential. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for effective interaction with children, parents, and the entire healthcare team. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for pediatric care are critical qualities. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and a commitment to adhering to hospital policies and procedures are required. Continuous professional development and staying updated on the latest advancements in pediatric nursing are expected.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent qualification. Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Registered Nurse, with a specialization in pediatrics. Proven experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating common pediatric conditions. Excellent clinical skills, including IV insertion, medication administration, and wound care. Strong understanding of child development and common pediatric illnesses. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required.
