Description

• The People & Culture Department of Lily Hospitals Ltd is seeking applications from prospective employees for the post of Lead Nurse – Executive Unit

• The Lead Nurse in critical care is responsible for providing intensive care to patients who are critically ill or injured.

• These patients require continuous monitoring and treatment in a highly specialized setting, while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care

Responsibilities
Clinical & Medical Care:
• Deliver and oversee high-quality patient care, including admission assessments, care planning, emergency procedures, and the use of medical devices and life-support systems.

• Ensure compliance with patient safety, privacy, and nursing standards, while guiding staff nurses in executing care plans using approved nursing processes.

Leadership & Supervision

• Lead, supervise, and support nursing staff to ensure consistent, quality care.

• Assign duties, manage schedules and rotations, conduct performance evaluations, and set SMART KPIs.

• Recruit, orient, train, and develop nursing staff, fostering continuous professional growth.

Administrative & Operational Management

• Ensure adequate stock levels, functional equipment, and well-maintained wards.

• Oversee daily equipment checks and ensure smooth unit operations aligned with hospital objectives and protocols.

Patient & Family Support

• Prepare patients for consultations, procedures, and surgeries; administer medications as prescribed.

• Collaborate with physicians on treatment plans, explain procedures and results, and provide emotional support to patients and families.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Maintain a safe, clean, and infection-controlled environment.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards, including ISO, COHSASA, Kaizen, and Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR 2019).

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Registered Midwife (RM) with a valid practising license from NMCN.

• Bachelor’s degree (B.NSc) is an added advantage.

• Minimum of three to five years of clinical experience

• Must possess a BLS and ACLS training certificate

• Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act

• Strong proficiency in simulation-based learning, clinical assessments, and student mentorship.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Package.
