The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage large employee populations (500+), drive HR strategies, and foster a performance‑driven culture.
This leadership role will partner with senior management to align HR practices with business objectives, while shaping an organizational culture that supports innovation, growth, and market leadership.
Required Skills & Attributes
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA or higher degree required, with HR certifications.
15+ years of HR experience, including managing 500+ employees in performance‑oriented settings.
Minimum 7 years in senior leadership, managing mid‑ to senior‑level HR professionals.
Proven success in multi‑location, fast‑moving environments with adaptable engagement strategies.
Deep industry experience in power, energy, telco, or FMCG, particularly serving rural/peri‑urban Nigeria.
Track record of contributing to or driving market leadership within a sector.
Knowledge of DER/power/electricity and its socio‑economic impact in Nigeria.
Strong ability to interpret and anticipate changes in labor laws and policy frameworks across Nigeria and West Africa.
Expertise in HR operations:
recruitment, performance management, employee relations, compliance.
Proficiency with HR software for medium‑sized organizations (e.g., Keka, Prajjo, SeamlessHR).
Demonstrated ability to design and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals.
Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills to develop next‑level talent.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
In‑depth understanding of employment laws and regulations in the power/energy sector.
Resilient, adaptable, and able to thrive under pressure.
Entrepreneurial mindset with proactive approaches to employee engagement and culture building.
Fluent in English; local language fluency is an advantage.
Location & Travel
Based in Abuja or Lagos, Nigeria, with travel across multiple states as required.
Compensation
