JOB DESCRIPTIONS1. Peri-Operative Nurse (Theatre Nurse)

Location:
British Community Hospital and Outpatient Clinic (BCHOC), Abuja

Role Summary:
The Peri-Operative Nurse provides nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, infection control, and adherence to theatre protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare patients for surgical procedures.
Assist surgeons during operative procedures.
Maintain a sterile surgical environment.
Prepare, handle, and account for surgical instruments and consumables.
Monitor patients' vital signs during procedures.
Provide post-operative nursing care and recovery monitoring.
Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control policies.
Maintain accurate peri-operative nursing records.
Be able to also work as a general nurse
Requirements
Registered Nurse (RN) with valid Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) licence.
Post-basic training or experience in peri-operative/theatre nursing.
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience preferred.
Good teamwork and communication skills.

• Paediatric Nurse

Location:

Role Summary:
The Paediatric Nurse provides specialized nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents, supporting doctors in diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care.
Key Responsibilities
Assess and monitor paediatric patients.
Administer medications and treatments safely.
Support immunization and child wellness programmes.
Educate parents and caregivers on child health and care.
Maintain accurate paediatric nursing records.
Ensure child-friendly, compassionate care at all times.
Be able to also work as a general/NICU/ICU nurse.
Requirements
Registered Nurse (RN) with NMCN licence.
Additional training or experience in paediatrics/NICU/ICU is an advantage.
Minimum of 1–2 years clinical experience preferred.

• Anaesthetic Nurse

Role Summary:
The Anaesthetic Nurse supports anaesthesia services before, during, and after surgical and diagnostic procedures.
Key Responsibilities

Assist anaesthetists during procedures.
Monitor patients' vital signs during and after anaesthesia.
Prepare and check anaesthetic equipment and medications.
Provide post-anaesthetic recovery care.
