Role Summary:

The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth across the company’s oil & gas–related service lines by developing new business, managing key corporate and institutional clients, and ensuring high-quality customer service delivery. The role requires strong commercial acumen, basic accounting knowledge, marketing coordination, and relationship management within the Nigerian oil and gas operating environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Sales & Business Development
• Develop and execute sales strategies to grow revenue from petroleum product haulage, pipeline-related projects, procurement & delivery contracts, and automotive services.
• Identify and pursue business opportunities with oil marketing companies (OMCs), depot operators, construction firms, government agencies, and private sector clients.
• Source and manage haulage, supply, and service contracts across depots, terminals, and project sites.
• Prepare and submit quotations, bids, tenders, and proposals in line with client requirements.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs) in accordance with company policy.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and ensure timely conversion of prospects to revenue.

2. Client Relationship Management & Customer Service
• Manage and grow relationships with key accounts, including oil marketers, contractors, and fleet clients.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients on service delivery, pricing, and contract-related matters.
• Handle client complaints, service delays, or operational challenges promptly and professionally.
• Conduct regular client visits, follow-ups, and performance reviews.
• Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities across haulage, procurement, pipeline support, and automotive services.
• Ensure client retention through consistent service quality and responsiveness.

3. Marketing & Market Intelligence
• Support the planning and execution of marketing initiatives to promote the company’s services within the Nigerian market.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments in oil & gas, logistics, and automotive services.
• Gather market intelligence on depot activity, haulage demand, pipeline projects, and fleet requirements.
• Represent the company at industry meetings, networking events, and stakeholder engagements.
• Provide market feedback to management to support strategic decision-making.

4. Basic Accounting & Commercial Awareness
• Prepare and monitor sales forecasts, revenue reports, and basic performance dashboards.
• Track invoicing, payments, and outstanding receivables for assigned accounts.
• Liaise with the finance/accounts team to ensure timely invoicing and follow-up on payments.
• Monitor client credit terms and escalate overdue payments where necessary.
• Ensure accurate documentation of all commercial transactions.

5. Internal Coordination & Operations Support
• Work closely with operations, logistics, procurement, and fleet maintenance teams to align sales commitments with delivery capacity.
• Coordinate with pipeline, haulage, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth execution of contracts.
• Provide management with regular sales updates, pipeline status, and performance reports.
• Ensure client requirements are clearly communicated internally to avoid service gaps.

6. Compliance, Safety & Industry Standards
• Ensure sales activities comply with company policies, Nigerian regulations, and industry standards.
• Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements relevant to oil & gas operations, including NMDPRA, NUPRC, DPR legacy guidelines, and HSE standards.
• Promote ethical business practices and compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Ensure contracts and sales commitments align with safety and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience:
• Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in sales, business development, or commercial roles.
• Prior experience in oil & gas services, petroleum haulage, logistics, construction support, or automotive services is highly desirable.
• Proven experience managing corporate or institutional clients in Nigeria.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Good understanding of the Nigerian oil & gas and logistics market.
• Basic accounting and financial knowledge (invoicing, revenue tracking, collections).
