Job Description
The role is with the primary objective of managing the sales function for the Houseware/Furniture and Drum, businesses across all branches (Lagos, Asaba and Kano). The individual is expected to provide leadership towards the achievement of sales growth and profitability in driving business in line with the company’s vision and values.
The individual will be responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing, directing, and coordinating the activities of the Location Sales Heads for all branches. The individual will need to establish and oversee the overall sales and sales management for all branches, in order to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability. The person will be responsible for overseeing the development and performance of all sales and market research activities in all branches.
Coordination of Sales Planning and forecastingCoordination of sales planning and forecasting for all branches.Preparation of Consolidated Annual Sales Budget in prescribed format.Preparation of Consolidated Monthly Sales Forecast in prescribed format.Supervision and Review of Sales StrategySupervision and review of monthly sales strategy for all branches.Ensure implementation of the group’s sales strategy in order to maximize sales and profitability.Accountability for all B2B customer interaction and improved relationships.Deliver to the agreed sales budget/sales forecast for all branches.Develop and monitor effective sales processes, tools, plans, and techniques to drive the sales team for all branches.Develop new business channels through identification of lead generation and conversion into new accounts.Meet key customers including B2B customers to keep them updated of our complete product range including new offerings.Recommend and select strategic customers to management for credit exposure in line with company’s sales strategy.Sales ManagementMeeting and exceeding annual sales targets assigned to all branches by developing and executing strategic sales plan, in order to expand our customer base.Ensure accurate SKU wise sales forecasting and monthly sales reporting. Review targets from all branches.Monitor customer activities and create incentive schemes.Liaise with production team for efficient production pipeline in order to meet demand of all branches.Liaise with appropriate warehouse staff on inventory and supply related matters to Lagos based customers and branches as per branch requirements.Ensure product pricing PAN Nigeria is competitive where there is competition for a product. Maximize pricing opportunities PAN Nigeria where our products command a higher position compared to our competitor’s product.Overall responsibility of customer sales orders, invoices & delivery waybills, as well as following up and confirming customer payments for your location.Seek customer credit approvals from management, strictly adhering to the credit policy.Keep track of sales budgets and ensure the Order-to-Payment cycle is followed strictly.Customer ManagementEnsure excellent relationships with all customers with full accountability of all their business dealings with the company.Define the group’s position as top of mind with key customers. Establish relationship techniques for successful and long-term customer relationships.Resolve issues or problems faced by customers in order to meet customer and business objectives.Marketing ActivitiesAssess business potential of our existing product range by category and customers in Nigeria.Develop presentational material and establish techniques on approaches with prospects, including CXO or top management level.Define the group’s position as top of mind with key customers.Resolve issues or problems faced by customers in order to meet customer and business objectives.Carry out SWOT analysis of competition and compare with company’s product category, with a view to maximizing the group’s product and revenue potential.ReportingDevelop a reporting structure to review order balances and collections from all branches.Preparing monthly plan v target. To ensure rolling targets and cashflow forecast is done accurately.Manage and compile internal reports, as necessary.Team DevelopmentHiring and training sales team support staffProviding professional development for teamSetting weekly/monthly and quarterly goals for teamConduct agreed level of quality assessments and provision of feedback to ensure quality standards are maintained with the sole purpose of increasing revenueREMUNERATION PACKAGE
A generous comprehensive remuneration package will be available with this position including offshore salary (paid in USD), a local living allowance, fully furnished accommodation, fully expensed car with driver, medical insurance and annual travel allowance.
Should have at least 15 years of experience in sales and marketing. Exposure in plastic, household, furniture, drums and rigid packaging in Nigeria will be an advantage.Effective written and verbal communication skillsMust possess basic computer knowledge being able to use programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Knowledge of Tally ERP9 is desirable.Graduate with a Post Graduate qualification in Business Management and/or Sales and Marketing.To be successful in this role, the candidate must be a self-motivated, confident, enthusiastic, and able to work independently with minimal supervision, be able to train and lead the team forward.A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
