Job Summary
The Relationship Officer in Retail Banking is responsible for driving deposit mobilization, customer acquisition, and portfolio growth within the retail segment. The role focuses on building and maintaining strong customer relationships, promoting retail banking products, retention, and revenue generation while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
• Source and onboard new retail customers individuals, SMEs, salary earners, traders.
• Mobilize deposits and grow low-cost funds in line with assigned targets.
• Promote and cross-sell retail banking products including savings accounts, current accounts, fixed deposits, loans, and digital banking solutions.
• Maintain and deepen relationships with existing customers to enhance retention and wallet share.
• Identify customer needs and recommend suitable financial products and services.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with KYC and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor customer accounts and follow up on matured investments and loan repayments.
• Provide timely and effective resolution to customer inquiries and complaints.
• Support branch marketing and promotional activities to drive brand visibility.
Requirements & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Marketing, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum of 1–3 years experience in retail banking, sales, or financial services Microfinance experience is an advantage.
• Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Good knowledge of retail banking products and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
