Our client, a dynamic and growing international organization, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Remote Senior Accountant to manage its financial operations. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting, reporting, and compliance, with a proven ability to manage complex accounting tasks independently. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records and providing crucial financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

The Remote Senior Accountant will oversee a range of accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing procedures. You will also be involved in preparing financial statements, management reports, and tax filings. A key aspect of this role will be ensuring adherence to relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and local statutory requirements. Collaboration with internal teams, external auditors, and tax advisors will be essential. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving accounting issues, implementing process improvements, and maintaining strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, and AR. Perform timely bank and credit card reconciliations. Process payroll and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Assist with the preparation of tax returns and filings. Support external audits and provide necessary documentation. Develop, implement, and maintain internal accounting controls and policies. Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues. Contribute to process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting system. Provide financial reports and analysis to management as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA) is highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles. Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and financial reporting. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills. Experience with remote work environments and virtual collaboration tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
