Job Description
Responsibilities:

Instructional Delivery & Planning:
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with the Nigerian National Curriculum and/or British/International Curricula.
• Create comprehensive lesson plans and teaching aids to facilitate learning.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students with varying learning styles.

Student Assessment & Reporting:
• Set, grade, and record homework, classwork, and examination papers promptly.
• Prepare students effectively for external examinations (WAEC, NECO, JAMB, IGCSE).
• Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their academic performance.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic progress.

Classroom Management:
• Maintain discipline and a conducive learning environment in accordance with the school’s code of conduct.
• Manage student behaviour effectively to minimise disruptions and maximise learning time.
• Foster a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Professional Development & Collaboration:
• Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and professional development sessions.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular links and improve teaching strategies.
• Engage with parents/guardians regarding student progress during Open Days and scheduled meetings.

Extracurricular Activities:
• Supervise and participate in extracurricular activities, clubs, and school events.
• Perform pastoral duties as a Form Tutor or Mentor if assigned.

Requirements:
• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) or a Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc/B.A) in a relevant subject with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
• Certification: Registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) is highly preferred
• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of teaching experience in a standard secondary school environment. Experience with the British Curriculum is an added advantage.
• Tech Savvy: Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and educational technology tools (e.g., Google Classroom, Interactive Whiteboards).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong subject matter expertise.
• Ability to manage a classroom effectively.
• Patience, emotional intelligence, and a passion for youth development.
• Time management and organisational skills.
