Job Description
Our client, a prominent player in the **Oil & Gas** sector, is seeking an experienced Reservoir Engineer to join their team in **Bauchi, Bauchi, NG**. This hybrid role offers a combination of remote work flexibility and essential on-site collaboration. The Reservoir Engineer will be responsible for analyzing and predicting the performance of oil and gas reservoirs, optimizing production strategies, and maximizing hydrocarbon recovery. This critical position involves using advanced reservoir simulation software, interpreting geological data, and making informed recommendations to enhance field development and production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain detailed reservoir models using industry-standard simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, CMG). Analyze well performance data, production history, and core/log data to understand reservoir characteristics. Conduct material balance calculations and decline curve analysis to predict future reservoir performance. Perform uncertainty analysis and risk assessment for field development plans. Recommend optimal well placement, completion strategies, and production enhancement techniques (e.g., waterflooding, EOR methods). Collaborate with geoscientists, drilling engineers, and production engineers to integrate subsurface information and ensure effective reservoir management. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and economic evaluations for reservoir studies. Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in reservoir engineering. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in reservoir engineering, preferably with exposure to Nigerian or similar geological settings. Proficiency in reservoir simulation software and data analysis tools. Strong understanding of reservoir engineering principles, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to significant upstream projects and advance your career in a challenging and rewarding environment.
