• Operate self-loading trucks to transport materials such as machinery, equipment, or construction materials between job sites.
• Safely load and unload materials using the truck’s hydraulic lifting system.
• Secure loads properly to ensure safe transport and avoid damage during transit.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring all equipment and controls are functioning correctly.
• Maintain logs of cargo and any maintenance performed on the vehicle.
• Communicate with supervisors and other team members to ensure efficient and safe operations.
• Follow road and safety regulations strictly, adhering to traffic laws and site-specific safety protocols.
• Monitor vehicle performance, reporting any issues or required repairs to maintenance teams.
• Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance as necessary, such as checking fluids, brakes, and tires.
• Ensure timely and accurate deliveries to customers or job sites.
Qualifications
• Minimum of SSCE
• Proven experience as a self-loader operator or similar heavy vehicle operation experience.
• Valid [appropriate class] driver’s license with a clean driving record and good understanding of load charts.
• Knowledge of hydraulic lifting systems and how to safely load and unload materials.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift and handle heavy objects safely.
• Good communication skills to interact with other operators, site managers, and clients.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Attention to detail, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
