Our client, a prestigious academic institution, is seeking an experienced and accomplished Senior Lecturer in Computer Science to join their esteemed faculty. Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and informative lectures and practical sessions in various Computer Science disciplines, including but not limited to algorithms, data structures, software engineering, artificial intelligence, and database systems. Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, dissertations, and theses. Conduct independent research, publish findings in reputable journals and conferences, and actively seek research grants. Mentor and guide students, providing academic and career advice. Contribute to departmental administrative tasks, including committee work and student admissions. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary research projects and academic initiatives. Participate in faculty development programs to enhance teaching and research skills. Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and innovation. Engage with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and explore potential research collaborations. Stay abreast of the latest advancements and trends in Computer Science and related fields. Contribute to the university's academic reputation through scholarly activities.
Qualifications:
A PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field from a recognized university is essential. A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at the university level, preferably as a Lecturer or equivalent. Demonstrated expertise in at least one core area of Computer Science. Proven ability to conduct high-quality research and secure research funding. Excellent pedagogical skills and a commitment to student success. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively within a collaborative academic environment. Experience in curriculum development and assessment design. Proficiency in relevant programming languages and computational tools. Evidence of academic leadership or potential for leadership is desirable.
