The Sexual Assault Referral Center (SARC) is a gender justice project supported by justice for all (J4A) programme of the department for international development (DFID) to provide holistic and high quality medical and psychosocial service of sexual assault in LagosState.
Job Description
• Provide all immediate assessments, treatment and health care to clients as needed and requested.
• Provide follow-up medical care, treatment and support as needed.
• Assist the contracted doctors with conducting medical/forensic examination as needed and requested by the client.
• Assist with any other medical follow up that may required for legal procedure, and help ensure that medical certificates are delivered to the appropriate agencies in a timely manner.
• Help refer and support clients to access additional health care that may not be provided at the center, such as family planning services, other medical care etc.
• Manage and oversee the centre pharmacy and medical supplies.
Qualifications
• A degree in nursing or similarqualification in nursing.
• At least 3 years experience in thedirect provision of examinations, treatment and care service to women andchildren including clients of sexual assault, domestic violence, and otherforms of gender-based violence.
• Substantial knowledge and/orpractical experience in health and medical issues pertaining to gender basedviolence response, and in the provision of appropriate care for clients.
• Demonstrated knowledge of andability to apply the principles of providing quality service delivery forclients of gender-based violence in various settings and circumstances.
