Job Description
Our client is actively seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join their finance department in **Uyo, Akwa Ibom, NG**. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain comprehensive experience in accounting practices. The successful candidate will assist the senior accounting team with a variety of tasks, including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial report preparation. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, accuracy, and a commitment to learning and professional development. You will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the company's financial records.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions. Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile various general ledger accounts. Assist in preparing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger. Support the month-end and year-end closing processes. Help in the preparation of financial statements and management reports. Maintain accurate and organized financial records, both electronic and physical. Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Process expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies. Assist in budget preparation and monitoring. Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding financial matters. Learn and apply accounting software and systems used by the company. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field. A strong academic record with a solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles. Previous internship or work experience in an accounting or finance role is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite applications. Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is desirable. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time management skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Eagerness to learn and develop professionally in the accounting field. Possession of or progress towards professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, ICAN) is an advantage.
