We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our fully remote finance team. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all aspects of general ledger accounting, including month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with IFRS/GAAP. Reconcile bank statements and intercompany accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies. Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and enhance internal controls. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring efficient processing and collection. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, and monitor actual performance against budget. Support external auditors during financial statement audits. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations. Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and statutory requirements. Prepare journal entries, accruals, and provisions as needed. Maintain fixed asset registers and process depreciation. Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making. Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Utilize accounting software and ERP systems proficiently. Contribute to financial system implementations and upgrades.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ACA) is strongly preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial accounting, preferably within a corporate environment. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks Enterprise). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables). Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote setting. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines. Experience in managing audit processes. Proven ability to work independently and proactively in a remote work environment.
