Our client, a well-established manufacturing firm, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant to join their finance department in **Bauchi, Bauchi, NG**. This role is critical for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to managing financial operations.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and company policies. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes. Process payroll and manage employee expense reimbursements. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations. Maintain fixed asset registers and perform depreciation calculations. Assist in tax preparation and compliance activities. Provide financial support and analysis to other departments as needed. Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices. Manage petty cash and other ad-hoc financial tasks.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification such as ACCA, ICAN, or equivalent is highly preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial accounting. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and time-management abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with tax regulations and compliance is a plus.
