Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Senior Financial Accountant to manage their accounting operations and contribute to financial strategy. This is a fully remote role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while maintaining close collaboration with the finance team and management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial accounting, reporting, and analysis, with proven expertise in ensuring accuracy and compliance. You will play a key role in financial planning, budgeting, and month-end close processes. Responsibilities include:
Overseeing and managing all aspects of financial accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger. Preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and tax regulations. Managing the month-end and year-end closing processes efficiently and effectively. Performing detailed financial analysis, identifying trends, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making. Assisting with budget preparation and monitoring financial performance against budgets. Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency. Reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts. Liaising with external auditors during financial audits. Mentoring and providing guidance to junior accounting staff remotely. Utilizing accounting software and digital tools for efficient financial management and reporting. Staying current with accounting best practices and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is highly desirable. Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in financial accounting. Proven experience with financial statement preparation and analysis. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations (IFRS/GAAP). Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly. Experience with remote team collaboration tools and practices. High level of integrity and attention to detail.
