Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead critical IT infrastructure projects in Calabar, Cross River, NG . This challenging role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control, and closure. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with extensive experience in managing cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders. This position operates on a hybrid model, requiring a balance of on-site collaboration and remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Manage project execution, track progress, and proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues. Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. Develop and deliver comprehensive project reports and presentations to stakeholders. Manage vendor relationships and contract negotiations for infrastructure projects. Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client requirements. Facilitate team meetings, workshops, and decision-making processes. Oversee the management of project budgets and expenditures. Mentor and guide junior project managers and team members. Stay updated with industry best practices in project management and IT infrastructure. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project. Resolve conflicts and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve consensus.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT project management, with a significant focus on infrastructure projects (e.g., network upgrades, data center migrations, cloud deployments). Proven success in managing large-scale, complex projects with budgets exceeding (specific budget range, e.g., 500 Million NGN). PMP, PRINCE2, or other recognized project management certification is required. Strong understanding of IT infrastructure technologies and methodologies. Expertise in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana). Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working in a hybrid work environment. Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Ability to work effectively from both the Calabar, Cross River, NG office and remotely.
