Our client, a pioneering force in the sustainable energy sector, is actively recruiting a highly experienced Senior Renewable Energy Project Manager for a fully remote position. This role is pivotal in driving the development and execution of impactful renewable energy projects, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing complex energy projects from conception through to completion. Responsibilities include overseeing feasibility studies, securing permits, managing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phases, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be instrumental in identifying new opportunities, managing stakeholder relationships, and mitigating project risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end management of renewable energy projects (solar, wind, hydro, etc.), including site assessment, development, financing, and construction. Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Oversee EPC contractors, consultants, and other third-party vendors to ensure project objectives are met. Manage project risks, identify potential issues, and develop proactive mitigation strategies. Liaise with government agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and foster positive relationships. Monitor project progress, financial performance, and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular reports to senior management. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, partners, and clients. Ensure all projects adhere to the highest standards of safety, environmental protection, and quality. Contribute to the strategic planning and business development efforts of the company's renewable energy division. Mentor junior project managers and team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil), Environmental Science, Business, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred. Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in project management within the renewable energy sector, with a strong focus on project development and execution. Demonstrated success in managing multiple large-scale renewable energy projects from initiation to closeout. In-depth understanding of renewable energy technologies, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks. Expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and best practices (e.g., PMP certification is a plus). Strong financial acumen, including experience with project budgeting, financial modeling, and risk assessment. Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and navigate diverse organizational structures. Proven ability to work independently and lead distributed teams in a remote setting. Willingness to travel as needed for project site visits and key meetings.
