Our client is seeking a highly detail-oriented and knowledgeable Remote HR Compliance Specialist to ensure adherence to all relevant labor laws and regulations. You will be responsible for staying abreast of evolving employment legislation at local, state, and federal levels, and translating these requirements into actionable HR policies and procedures. Key duties include conducting regular audits of HR practices, developing and updating employee handbooks and policy documents, managing compliance training programs, and advising HR and management teams on compliance matters. You will play a critical role in risk mitigation, ensuring the company maintains a fair, equitable, and legally compliant workplace. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR law, compliance, and best practices. Excellent analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex legal statutes are essential. Proficiency in HRIS systems and compliance software is highly desirable. You should possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to clearly articulate compliance requirements and train employees effectively. A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in HR compliance. Professional certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP are a significant advantage. This role demands integrity, discretion, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential compliance issues before they arise. Responsibilities:
Monitor, interpret, and implement changes in employment laws and regulations. Develop, update, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook. Conduct internal HR compliance audits and risk assessments. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA if applicable). Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees and management. Advise HR staff and management on legal requirements and best practices. Manage investigations related to employee complaints or potential policy violations. Oversee record-keeping and documentation for compliance purposes. Stay current with industry trends and legal developments in HR compliance. Liaise with legal counsel and external auditors as needed. Contribute to the development of a strong compliance culture within the organization. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR compliance, employment law, or a related field. In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations. Proven experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in HRIS and compliance management software. High level of integrity, discretion, and ethical conduct. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is highly preferred.
